Alex learned how to count backwards from 10 from a toy about a year and a half ago. He knows how to count to 40 or 50, by rote. Lately he's been counting backwards from 20. He just figured out how to do it on his own. My little smarty. (I especially love when he says "five-teen.")
Spencer is very interested in the human body. We've had many conversations recently about bones, skin, and various organs (he finds the word bladder particularly hilarious). He told me today that he has a "drain" and that's where his "poopy" comes out. Future doctor? Or plumber?
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. Oliver Wendell Holmes

Alex's Communication
Last night my sister walked outside with Alex in her arms and he said "I see the car," with absolutely no prompting. Today I handed him a book, "Peekaboo Zoo," and upon seeing the animals on the front cover he said "Zebra!".
